A Letter to Our Children

Oak_tree_with_moon_and_wildflowers

Oak trees, once held sacred, are symbols of strength and endurance.  They are nurturers and protectors of life.  All the oaks of the world started life as a small green acorn, unaware of the amazing potential it holds.  You, my friends, are just like these green acorns.  With the right tools, you will soon discover your own special powers.  You are the stewards of the environment and the protectors of life, now and for the future.

  1. Hi,

I am a part of Sparkle Stories – we produce original audio stories for children and families from our base in Austin, Texas.

We are developing a new Audio Story Series linked to Wilderness curriculum. Each story in the series will be a collaboration with with a Nature or Wilderness school somewhere in the world. We want to feature perspectives from all over!

We found you in the internet (technology!), and we think you’d be an excellent match for this project. I’m writing to see if you would be interested in talking more!

The plan is to start with a conversation about – and then write and record a story that would feature that project.

What we’re looking for: a particular game, project, activity or artistic experience that is connected to nature. We’re admiring your birdfeeding haven and identifying birdcalls posts, for instance.

This project would be one you’d be interested in capturing in a step by step tutorial complete with photographs. (See examples of projects of another collaborative project here.)

What we’ll do: write and record an audio story that would feature that project.

The finished audio story would then have a link to the Nature or Wilderness school as well as a how-to craft blog post with your tutorial and images.

Does that sound interesting to you?

We currently have over 13,000 people on our newsletter mailing list, and our iTunes Podcast is downloaded 2500+ times each week. The story would live on the Sparkle website indefinitely, and you’d be named as a collaborator. So the exposure for your work is really great!

If you are interested, please reply to me within a week’s time. We’re hoping to have all of our collaborations established really soon.

Thanks for considering! We’re really excited about this project and hope you’ll join us.

    Warm regards,

P.S. Sorry if this is a duplicate message. I sent my first reply via the contact form on the website and I’m not sure if you received it. :-0
