Celebrating the Fall Equinox

“By all these lovely tokens September days are here, with summer’s best of weather and autumn’s best of cheer” -Helen Hunt Jackson

The changing of seasons is the perfect time to celebrate nature and all the wonder that it holds.  Fall brings with it celebrations of harvest.  Trees and shrubs glow with a final show of color.  Animals change behaviors in preparation for what’s to come.  In many locations, there’s often a dramatic show of activity then everything seems to slow and quiet.

There are many opportunities to talk with our children about the processes that take place in nature amongst plants and animals during this time of year.  What better way to instill a sense of wonder in our children?

These are a few of our favorite ways to celebrate and explore the beauty of fall.  We hope you and your child enjoy them as well…
